The Centennial Patriots will face off against the Meridian Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
On Saturday, Centennial came out on top against Orofino by a score of 13-3 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The win continues a trend for the Patriots in their matchups with the Maniacs: they've now won three in a row.
Cali Moorhouse was incredible, firing off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Jailey Polski ?25, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.
They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Centennial lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. They are 3-1 when they post two or more home runs.
Meanwhile, Meridian got themselves on the board against Orofino on Saturday, but Orofino never followed suit. They blew past the Maniacs 10-0. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by eight runs or more this season.
Athena Little made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over five innings pitched. Little was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alexia Flygare, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Reagan Morris was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Centennial now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Meridian, their victory bumped their record up to 10-8.
Meridian's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Centennial has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.7 hits per game. It's a different story for Meridian, though, as they've been averaging 9.8 hits. Given Centennial's sizable advantage in that area, the Warriors will need to find a way to close that gap.
Centennial suffered a grim 11-1 defeat to Meridian in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will the Patriots have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
