Panguitch and the Mustangs are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Panguitch Bobcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bryce Valley Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Panguitch has seven straight wins, the Mustangs have five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Panguitch put the finishing touches on their tenth blowout victory of the season on Wednesday. They blew past Valley 64-41. That's two games straight that Panguitch has won by exactly 23 points.
Cache Eyre was his usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Another player making a difference was Daxton Miller, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 71-36, which was the final score in Bryce Valley's tilt against the Thunderbirds on Wednesday. Bryce Valley has not had much luck with the Thunderbirds recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Panguitch pushed their record up to 17-3 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Bryce Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-14.
Everything came up roses for Panguitch against the Mustangs when the teams last played back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 60-17 victory. With Panguitch ahead 33-12 at the half, the game was all but over already.
