Floresville has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Pearsall Mavericks at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Floresville is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Pearsall in Texas (Floresville is ranked 448th, while Pearsall is ranked 1328th).
Floresville can now show off 12 landslide victories after their most recent game on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Somerset 65-16 at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Floresville has posted since December 19, 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Floresville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alissa Hilario, who scored ten points along with eight steals and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordin Johns, who scored 15 points along with seven steals.
Meanwhile, Pearsall's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They fell 40-27 to Somerset. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Pearsall in their matchups with Somerset: they've now lost six in a row.
Floresville is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 18-12 record this season. As for Pearsall, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 7-16.
Everything came up roses for Floresville against Pearsall in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 73-22 win. With Floresville ahead 40-14 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
