AAA District 8 recap September 17, 2013
Lincoln County and Lebanon played the most contested game in AAA District 8 this week, with Lincoln County eventually emerging with a 26-25 victory. Keller Monks threw for 99 yards during the win.
Lawrence County took down Loretto 35-17 last week, the largest margin of any game. Clint Brewer ran for 162 yards in the win.
Tullahoma's dynamic duo of Hunter Myers and Cole Potter proved to be unstoppable against Giles County, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Myers threw for 261 yards and Potter had 65 yards receiving. Kris Pott-Howard helped Tullahoma's passing attack out by catching 6 balls for 53 yards.
The Wildcats' dynamic duo of Myers and Potter proved tough for the Bobcats to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Potter was the best receiver in the league this week as Tullahoma fell to Giles County.
Brewer was the best running back in the league this week. Teammate Elijah Gang added to the ground attack by rushing for 81 yards.
Myers put up the best numbers in passing as John Olive's team fell to Walt Smith's team.
6-foot-2 quarterback Myers of the Wildcats is the league leader in passing yards this season with 787. He has also thrown 5 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Tyler Eddings. The Shelbyville Central star has 18 catches for 441 yards.
The Falcons are in fourth place, while Columbia Central is in first place.
