Monroe Central extended their losing streak to five on Friday, dropping their season record down to 7-12 in the process. They came up short against the Cameron Dragons, falling 12-6. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Seminoles of the 6-4 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2019.
Monroe Central got a good showing from Wesley Loch, who didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. What's more, Loch gave up only two walks, the fewest he's had since back in April.

On the hitting side, Max Demchak and Caedyn Silva did some serious damage despite the final result: Demchak got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Silva got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. Demchak is becoming a predictor of Monroe Central's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 4-11 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Landefeld, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.
As for Cameron, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-10 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matchups by six runs or more this season.
On Cameron's side, Kason Angel made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Angel has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Dane Dalesio and Hunter Evans did most of the damage at the plate: Dalesio went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI, while Evans went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those three RBI gave Dalesio a new career-high. Anthony Bellanco was another key player, earning two RBI and one run.
While Monroe Central had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
