Platte Valley took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Monday. Everything went their way against the Wiggins Tigers as the Platte Valley Broncos made off with a 7-1 victory. This was payback for the Broncos, who suffered a 1-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Hazen Weber made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hudson Flummerfelt, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2024.
