ALA - Queen Creek is 0-5 against Eastmark since April of 2021 but things could change on Monday. ALA - Queen Creek will host Eastmark at 3:45 p.m. ALA - Queen Creek is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.3 runs per game this season.
Last Friday, ALA - Queen Creek didn't have quite enough to beat Higley and fell 4-3.
Sadie Nielson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Taelyn Ehmke, who went 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
Meanwhile, while Eastmark put up plenty of runs on Saturday, the same can't be said for Desert Sunrise. Eastmark blew past Desert Sunrise 19-0. The result was nothing new for the Firebirds, who have now won six contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Mia Migliaccio made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Those nine strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI and two doubles.
In other batting news, Andrea Fletcher was a standout: she scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three). Makenzie Bozeman was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Eastmark was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .680. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .304 or higher in five consecutive games.
Eastmark pushed their record up to 10-6 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for ALA - Queen Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.
Monday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. ALA - Queen Creek hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .366. However, it's not like Eastmark struggles in that department as they've averaged .353. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
ALA - Queen Creek suffered a grim 16-0 defeat to Eastmark in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will ALA - Queen Creek have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
