Lake Country Lutheran has been on the road for three straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will take on the St. Francis Mariners at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Lake Country Lutheran has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,317 points over their last 17 contests.
Last Monday, Lake Country Lutheran didn't have too much trouble with Columbus on the road as they won 66-48.
It was another big night for Sam Hans, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last eight times he's played. Will Sivak was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but St. Francis ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Whitewater and snuck past 85-82. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
St. Francis got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Keenan Green out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 29 points and nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Green has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Nerby, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 13 rebounds.
Lake Country Lutheran pushed their record up to 14-3 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for St. Francis, their win bumped their record up to 9-10.
Thursday's match is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Lake Country Lutheran have been dynamite from deep this season, having made 45.3% of their threes per game. However, it's not like St. Francis struggles in that department as they've made 45.6% of their threes this season. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Everything came up roses for Lake Country Lutheran against St. Francis in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 91-53 win.
