The Windsor Warriors lost against the Newington Nor'easters back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Windsor took a 52-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Newington.
It was another big night for Bela Cucuta, who scored 30 points for Newington. That makes it four consecutive games in which Cucuta has scored at least 25% of Newington's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendall Miller, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds and seven assists.
Windsor's defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-3. As for Newington, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.
Windsor will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Hamden at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Hamden's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. Newington and Sacred Heart Academy will round out the year against one another at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday at. Sacred Heart Academy is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.
