Softball Recap: Cedar Valley Extends Winning Streak to Three

Cedar Valley put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victor by a 17-2 margin over the Dixie Flyers. Fans of the Aviators have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Cedar Valley got a massive performance out of Cleora Smith, who fired off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-3. Mariah Hights was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Cedar Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .792. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dixie only posted an OBP of .400.

Cedar Valley's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Dixie, their defeat was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-1.

Cedar Valley wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 9-7 win against Juan Diego Catholic on the 7th. As for Dixie, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 7-0 loss against Union on the 7th.
