Cardinal Newman has gone a perfect 4-0 against Berean Christian recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Crusaders will look to defend their home field against the Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Cardinal Newman is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Forest Hill a 20-0 shutout on Monday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Crusaders as it put an end to their eight-game losing streak.
Maeve Adams was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (five). She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Cardinal Newman let Reese Khanna and Elle Perrotto run wild. Khanna scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Perrotto went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, four RBI, and one double. Those three hits gave Perrotto a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Annabelle Walsh, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Cardinal Newman was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .542. They are 4-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Berean Christian made easy work of Boca Raton Christian on Monday and carried off a 28-12 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won six matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.
Julianne Severson and Marie Poulette did most of the damage at the plate: Severson scored five runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances, while Poulette went 2-for-4 with four runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Britton, who scored five runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.
The win made it two in a row for Berean Christian and bumps their season record up to 7-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 22.5 runs over those games. As for Cardinal Newman, their win bumped their record up to 4-12.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Cardinal Newman hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .317. However, it's not like Berean Christian struggles in that department as they've averaged .402. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
