De Anza recap Sept. 26, 2012
James Toland of Shadow Hills ran for the longest rushing play in De Anza this season against Banning last week. Toland ran for 90 yards on the play and finished with 490 on the day as his team lost to the Broncos.
Big Bear extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Rosamond, 49-0. This was the team's fifth consecutive win.
Desert Hot Springs's dynamic duo of Steven Steed and Ace Lewis proved tough for Desert Christian Academy to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Steed threw for 88 yards and two touchdowns and Lewis had 78 yards receiving. T Armstrong helped Desert Hot Springs' passing attack out by catching one ball for 10 yards.
The Golden Eagles' Steed and Lewis have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Steed has thrown for 709 yards this season, while Lewis has 20 catches for 427 yards. Shadow Hills' Toland leads the league in rushing yards with 1282.
Desert Hot Springs was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fourth to second in De Anza. Larry Matthews's team defeated the Conquerors 34-3 earlier in the week.
