Adding to the longest winning streak in 2A District 8 this week, Commerce beat Quapaw 54-14. This was the team's 10th consecutive win.
The Wildcats fell to Commerce 54-14 last week, the largest margin of any game. Landon Corbus was a bright spot for Quapaw, as he ran for 107 yards in the loss.
Steve Moss' team's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Angel Landeros threw for 160 and 3 touchdowns and Seth Roberts had 70 yards receiving. On the ground Trenton Barr contributed 127 yards. Brett Freeman helped Commerce's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 56 yards.
The Tigers' dynamic duo of Landeros and Roberts proved tough for CHARLES PREAUS's team to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Freeman helped Commerce's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 56 yards.
He went 9-17 with 1 interception.
Kansas's Logan Blaine and Tracy Pruitt led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-8 quarterback Blaine has thrown for 808 yards this season, while Pruitt has 14 catches for 367 yards. Commerce's DC Chance leads the league in rushing yards with 1,980.
In 148 carries Ryan Garrett has put up 923 yards this year.
Salina made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 4,367 from 5,115. The improvement was largely due to a 47-13 victory over the Comets last week.
