Windsor has enjoyed a four-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Bloomfield Warhawks at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Windsor knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matches -- so hopefully Bloomfield likes a good challenge.
In what's become a running theme this season, Windsor gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 87-18 win over Wethersfield. Given Windsor's advantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 27th, while Wethersfield is ranked 113th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Bloomfield's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were dealt a 76-36 loss at the hands of Newington. Bloomfield was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-14.
Windsor pushed their record up to 12-7 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.5 points per game. As for Bloomfield, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-16 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Windsor against Bloomfield when the teams last played back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 68-18 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Windsor since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
