Tuloso-Midway hasn't had much luck against Calallen recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Warriors & Cherokees will head out to face off against the Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
On Friday, Tuloso-Midway was fully in charge, breezing past Hidalgo Early College 55-7. The Warriors & Cherokees have beaten the Pirates the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Pirates has come to flipping the script.

Tuloso-Midway's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Damian Figueroa, who gained 293 total yards and three touchdowns, and Joaquin Trevino, who threw for 202 yards and five touchdowns on only 17 passes. Figueroa is also crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 110 every time he's taken the field this season.
Tuloso-Midway was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 291 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 200 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.
Tuloso-Midway didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Jace Arriaga.
Meanwhile, while Calallen put up plenty of points on Friday, the same can't be said for Valley View. The Wildcats claimed a resounding 77-0 win over the Tigers. That looming 77-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Wildcats yet this season.
Calallen's win came from a few key players Tuloso-Midway will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Connor Klostermann, who rushed for 73 yards and one score on only five carries, and also threw for 104 yards and a pair of TDs on perfect 5-for-5 passing. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in passer rating (177.1). Jimmy Tipton was in the mix too, providing Calallen with two touchdowns.
Calallen's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Tuloso-Midway, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.
Friday's game will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Figueroa and Ricardo Rodrguez. Figueroa just won't slow down this season and has run in 20 touchdowns while averaging 206.3 rushing yards per game. Rodrguez has been a dominant force too and has run in 10 touchdowns while averaging 78.9 rushing yards per game.
Tuloso-Midway suffered a grim 35-14 defeat to Calallen when the teams last played back in October of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Warriors & Cherokees were down 28-7.
