Basketball Recap: Canterbury Skates Past South Fort Myers with Ease

Canterbury put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They claimed a resounding 59-23 victory over the South Fort Myers Wolfpack. The team ran away with 53 points in the first half and mostly just sat on those to pick up the win.

Casey O'Connell continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 6 of 14 on her way to 16 points in addition to five boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaya Langford, who posted 11 points and seven steals.

Despite the loss, South Fort Myers had strong showings from Ja'Meria Church, who put up nine points and five rebounds, and Mariah Thorne, who had six points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Thorne has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 12 times she's played. Jer'Miya Jackson was another key player, putting up five points.

Canterbury's record is now 4-0. As for South Fort Myers, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Canterbury wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 64-40 victory against Estero on the 5th. As for South Fort Myers, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 42-41 win against Island Coast on the 5th.
