Kings Park has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Miller Place Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Kings Park will be strutting in after a victory while Miller Place will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Thursday, Kings Park didn't have too much trouble with Harborfields at home as they won 43-28.
Meanwhile, Miller Place ended up a good deal behind Islip on Thursday and lost 53-35. Miller Place has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Ava Zicchinelli, who scored 13 points. That was a full 37.1% of Miller Place's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Brooke Callaghan was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Kings Park pushed their record up to 8-5 with that win, which was their 14th straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.1 points per game. As for Miller Place, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.
Everything went Kings Park's way against Miller Place in their previous meeting back in January of 2022 as Kings Park made off with a 61-39 victory. With Kings Park ahead 34-7 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
