Griffin Tippey turned in yet another pitching appearance with more than seven strikeouts on Saturday. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 16 over six innings pitched. He was dominant the last time he took on Pleasant Hill/Western back in May of 2024, so they probably should've seen this coming. Tippey also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Augusta Southeastern is 4-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 1-10 otherwise.

Looking ahead, Tippey and Augusta Southeastern will face off against Hamilton/Warsaw at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Suns got just the result they wanted when they last faced the Titans thanks in part to Tippey: he struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk).
