Meadville is 9-1 against Linn County since December of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Meadville Eagles will be playing at home against the Linn County Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. Meadville will be strutting in after a win while Linn County will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Friday, Meadville was able to grind out a solid win over Brashear, taking the game 65-53. The win was just what Meadville needed coming off of a 73-53 defeat in their prior contest.
Gauge Shiflett and Reece Meyers were among the main playmakers for Meadville as the former scored 17 points along with 7 rebounds and the latter scored 13 points along with 8 assists and 8 rebounds. Mason Dennis was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Meanwhile, Linn County's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They were dealt a 65-25 loss at the hands of Brashear. While losing is never fun, Linn County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 431st, while Brashear is ranked 182nd).
The win got Meadville back to even at 3-3. As for Linn County, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.
Meadville beat Linn County 69-56 in their previous meeting back in January. Will Meadville repeat their success, or does Linn County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
