Basketball Recap: Seymour Piles Up the Points Against Oxford

Seymour was handed a heart-breaking three-point loss in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Oxford on Saturday. The Seymour Wildcats claimed a resounding 73-44 victory over the Oxford Wolverines. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 23 points or more this season.

Seymour had a senior duo take command as Joey Carrafiello dropped a double-double on 28 points and ten boards and Robby Carrafiello went 7 of 11 on his way to 20 points in addition to seven assists and five boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which Joey has scored at least a third of Seymour's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Shane White, who posted eight points along with seven boards and three steals.

Seymour's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Oxford, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Seymour will host Waterbury Career Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Waterbury Career Academy will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Seymour surely won't give up without a fight. As for Oxford, they will take on Kaynor Tech at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
