The Washington-Wilkes Tigers can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They secured a 42-38 W over Aquinas. The win was just what Washington-Wilkes needed coming off of a 52-27 defeat in their prior matchup.
Aquinas' defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Elle Morris, who scored seven points along with 12 rebounds and two steals, and Emma Kate Noegel who scored three points along with five rebounds and two steals. Noegel hasn't dropped below two blocks for four straight games.
Washington-Wilkes' win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-10. As for Aquinas, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 9-12.
Washington-Wilkes will head out on the road to take on Lincoln County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Lincoln County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 last Saturday. As for Aquinas, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Greene County at 5:30 p.m. on January 31st. Greene County will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Aquinas surely won't give up without a fight.
