Eagle Rock is a perfect 10-0 against Franklin since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Eagles will square off against the Panthers at 3:00 p.m. Eagle Rock is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.
Eagle Rock took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They came out on top against Marshall by a score of 6-2. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Barristers: they've now won seven in a row.
Marcella Terrazas made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Terrazas was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double.
Terrazas wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was AJ Jimenez, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. That's the most hits Jimenez has posted since back in March.
Meanwhile, Franklin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They lost 19-9 to Wilson.
Kaela Remias was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Kayla Hernandez also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Eagle Rock's record is now 10-7. As for Franklin, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-12.
Friday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Eagle Rock has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .448. However, it's not like Franklin struggles in that department as they've averaged .432. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Eagle Rock got the 'W' in their previous matchup two weeks ago against Franklin by a conclusive 16-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
