Even though the Carnegie Wildcats scored an imposing 59 points on Thursday, the Shattuck Indians still came out on top. Shattuck took their match against Carnegie 68-59.
Despite the loss, Carnegie still got an impressive performance from Jalen Wallace, who scored 30 points along with five assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wallace has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Duane Cavaness, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Shattuck has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for Carnegie, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-7.
Shattuck won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Perry at 1:30 p.m. on January 26th. Perry will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings (they are ranked 383rd, while Shattuck is ranked 107th). As for Carnegie, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Binger-Oney at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
