The Herron Achaeans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Cascade, falling 66-34. While losing is never fun, Herron can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 425th, while the Cadets are ranked 204th).
Despite the loss, Herron still got an impressive performance from Isreal Cozart, who scored ten points.
Herron struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Cascade pulled down 14 offensive rebounds.
Cascade's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Connor Sanders, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds. Brady Trebley was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Herron's defeat was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-15. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.4 points per game. As for Cascade, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-6.
