Softball Recap: Kenedy Starts Season with Victory at Home

Kenedy took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Pettus Eagles a 12-0 shutout. For the Lions, this counts as revenge for the 16-15 win the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2022.

Kayla Salas was incredible, scoring three runs while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Madison Byron, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.

Pettus dropped their record down to 0-3 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Kenedy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 12-10 loss against Mathis on the 13th. As for Pettus, they have also already played their next game, a 15-4 defeat against Poteet on the 17th.
