The Tahlequah Tigers will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Booker T. Washington Hornets at 7:30 p.m. Tahlequah will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings (they are ranked 84th, while Booker T. Washington is ranked 11th).
After a string of three wins, Tahlequah's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell to Bishop Kelley 50-46.
Meanwhile, Booker T. Washington put the finishing touches on their seventh blowout victory of the season on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Pryor 87-23 at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Booker T. Washington has posted yet this season.
Booker T. Washington found their leader in underclassman Mason Matulis, who scored 24 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. That's the first time this season that Matulis pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Joc Mitchell, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Tahlequah's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-4. As for Booker T. Washington, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.
