The Liberty Christian Warriors will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Bishop Dunne Falcons at 7:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Liberty Christian's favor as the squad sits on 11 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Bishop Dunne has been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
Liberty Christian can now show off ten landslide victories after their most recent game on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Trinity Christian 49-7 at home. Given Liberty Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 25th, while Trinity Christian is ranked 284th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Cole Welliver looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 238 yards and four touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. Welliver is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last eight games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Garnett, who rushed for 88 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Bishop Dunne lost to Grapevine Faith Christian on the road by a decisive 45-26 margin on Friday.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Myles Jackson, who rushed for 166 yards while picking up 9.2 yards per carry. Jackson was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 62 yards. Another player making a difference was Quincy Rheams, who rushed for 53 yards and two touchdowns.
Liberty Christian's win lifted them to 10-0 while Bishop Dunne's defeat dropped them down to 4-6.
