Softball Recap: Windham's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

Windham came into Tuesday's matchup having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They put the hurt on the Struthers Wildcats with a sharp 19-4 win on Tuesday. With that victory, the Bombers brought their scoring average up to 6.9 runs per game.

Makenna Jones was a standout: she got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Breille Jones, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.

Windham was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .552. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.

Windham picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 3-9. As for Struthers, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.

Windham didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 23-12 victory against Harding on the 23rd. As for Struthers, they will square off against Beaver Local at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Beavers will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight.
