The Ash Grove Pirates's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 43-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Marionville. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Ash Grove in their matchups with Marionville: they've now lost three in a row.
Marionville found their leader in underclassman Dally Pomeroy, who scored 13 points. Lanie Stokes was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with two steals.
Ash Grove has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Marionville, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ash Grove's road trip will continue as they head out to face Lockwood at 6:00 p.m. on January 22nd. As for Marionville, they will face off against Sarcoxie at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
