Football Recap: Bixby Piles Up the Points Against Moore

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bixby). They claimed a resounding 81-6 win over the Moore Lions. The Spartans have beaten the Lions the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Lions has come to flipping the script.

Carson Kirby continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 307 yards and four TDs while completing 76.9% of his passes, and also rushing for 71 yards and one score. That's the most passing yards he has posted since back in October of 2024. Another player making a difference was Nathan Gonzalez, who picked up 90 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Bixby was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 241 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 165 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Bixby's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Moore, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Bixby is set to challenge their familiar foe Edmond North at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Moore will face off against rival Deer Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
