Bayshore hasn't had much luck against Manatee recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Bruins will head out on the road to take on the Hurricanes at 12:00 p.m. Bayshore has given up an average of 10.8 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Bayshore couldn't beat Bradenton Christian last Thursday even though they stacked six runs on them in the second inning. The Bruins lost 17-9 to the Panthers.
Jordan Greene put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2025. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Angelo Magloire stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. Bayshore is 3-1 when Magloire posts two or more runs, but 3-11 otherwise. Diego Falcon was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Manatee's offense. They fell just short of Palmetto by a score of 2-0 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Hurricanes have suffered since April 17, 2025.
Manatee saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ashton Hovda, who went 1-for-3 with one double.
Bayshore's record is now 6-12. As for Manatee, their record now sits at 12-11.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Bayshore has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Manatee struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Bayshore suffered a grim 12-1 defeat to Manatee when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Can the Bruins avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
