On Friday, Underwood are packing up and heading on the road for the first time this season. They face off against IKM/Manning at 7:00 PM. The MaxPreps rankings say the odds are against Underwood, but that can only make success all the sweeter.
Underwood couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They found themselves the relunctant recipients of an unpleasant 14-47 punch to the gut against A-H-S-T last Friday.
IKM/Manning had to travel to play their first game of the season, and the final result was worth the trip. They were fully in charge last week, breezing past Guthrie Center/Adair-Casey 35-0. The margin was wide but not a surprise since IKM/Manning are ranked far ahead of Guthrie Center/Adair-Casey in the MaxPreps rankings.
IKM/Manning's win lifted them to 1-0 while Underwood's loss dropped them down to 0-1. We'll find out if IKM/Manning can add another positive mark to their record or if Underwood can shake off the loss and take the spring out of IKM/Manning's step.
