The Elmwood Royals will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Gibsonburg Golden Bears at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Elmwood is out to stop a six-game streak of losses at home dating back to last season.

Even though Gibsonburg has not done well against St. Mary Central Catholic recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Gibsonburg enjoyed a cozy 55-41 win over St. Mary Central Catholic. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Gibsonburg.
Gibsonburg's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jake Hall led the charge by scoring 17 points along with three steals. The contest was Hall's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Morant, who scored 17 points.
Elmwood's victory bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Gibsonburg, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.
Elmwood took their win against Gibsonburg in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 by a conclusive 74-48. Will Elmwood repeat their success, or does Gibsonburg have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
