Basketball Recap: Mid-Michigan Homeschoolers Piles Up the Points Against CHASE

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mid-Michigan HomeSchoolers). They blew past CHASE 85-52 on Tuesday. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 29 points or more this season.

Leading Mid-Michigan HomeSchoolers to victory were Lucas Taylor and Aidan Porter. Taylor went 6 for 7 from beyond the arc on his way to 24 points in addition to six assists and five boards, while Porter went 8 of 14 on his way to 23 points and five steals. Porter's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brendan Redmond, who posted 12 points in addition to six boards and five assists.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Mid-Michigan HomeSchoolers was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in four consecutive contests.

Mid-Michigan HomeSchoolers' victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-5. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.8 points per game. As for CHASE, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.

Mid-Michigan HomeSchoolers will face off against FAITH HomeSchool at 7:15 p.m. on January 17th. As for CHASE, they will take on Lapeer Lakers Homeschool at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday. Lapeer Lakers Homeschool will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something CHASE surely won't give up without a fight.
