The River Valley Vikings will take on the Eastmoor Academy Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in River Valley's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 20 games.
River Valley is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Cristo Rey: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that River Valley blew Cristo Rey out of the water with a 91-25 final score. The Vikings have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 contests by 24 points or more this season.

River Valley relied on the efforts of Sawyer Weston, who went 10-for-14 on his way to 21 points in addition to six assists and four steals, and Chase Smith, who went 8-for-12 to rack up 17 points. That's the most points Weston has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Ebert, who went 5-for-7 en route to 10 points and five assists.
They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: River Valley was working as a unit and finished the game with 30 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Eastmoor Academy didn't have too much trouble with Marion-Franklin on Saturday as they won 67-49. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.
Eastmoor Academy found their leader in sophomore Dekar Moultry, who dropped a double-double with 24 points and 13 rebounds. Moultry has become a key player for Eastmoor Academy: the team is 10-5 when he posts at least ten boards, but 1-6 otherwise. Phonie Simpkins was another key player, going 6-for-10 to rack up 18 points.
River Valley's victory was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 21-2. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.2 points over those games. As for Eastmoor Academy, the win got them back to even at 11-11.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: River Valley has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 28.2 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Eastmoor Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 34.7 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
River Valley came up short against Eastmoor Academy in their previous meeting back in February of 2019, falling 61-56. Will River Valley have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other basketball content.
