There's no place like home for the Wiggins Tigers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road back in December of 2023. They were the clear victor by a 43-23 margin over Byers. That's another feather in the cap for Wiggins, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Wiggins got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kennedy Kerr out in front who scored 19 points along with five steals. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Kerr has scored at least 25% of Wiggins' points. Riley Hunt was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with nine rebounds and four steals.
Wiggins' victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-4. As for Byers, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wiggins won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Haxtun at 1:00 p.m. on January 6th. Haxtun is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Byers, they will head out on the road to face off against Simla at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Simla presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Byers in Colorado (Simla is ranked 62nd, while Byers is ranked 203rd).
