The Wellston Golden Rockets will square off against the Southeastern Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Wellston sitting on five straight wins and Southeastern on three.
Wellston's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over Fairland. Considering the Golden Rockets have won 15 games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Hannah Potts made a splash no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in 13 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Lyla Pittenger was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Kennedi Stevens was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.
Fairfield typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Southeastern proved too difficult a challenge. They won by a run and slipped past the Lions 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Panthers have posted since March 24th.
Kylie Williams spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up ten Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jade Turner, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Wellston pushed their record up to 18-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Southeastern, their win bumped their record up to 12-15.
Wellston came out on top in a nail-biter against Southeastern when the teams last played back in April of 2023, sneaking past 4-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Golden Rockets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
