After three games on the road, Homer is heading back home. They will take on the Chittenango Bears at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Two weeks ago, things could have been worse for Homer, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 59-44 loss to Skaneateles. While losing is never fun, Homer can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 387th, while Skaneateles is ranked 165th).
Meanwhile, Chittenango pushed their score all the way to 77 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 84-77 hit to the loss column at the hands of Westhill.
Chittenango might have lost, but man, Ryan Moesch was a machine: he scored 46 points. That was a full 59.7% of Chittenango's points, marking the 14th time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brendon Barnard, who scored 12 points.
Homer's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Chittenango, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-5.
Homer was taken down by Chittenango 68-38 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Moesch, who scored 31 points along with nine assists and six steals. Now that Homer knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
