The Levelland Lobos had already won 11 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 37.5 points), and they went ahead and made it 12 on Friday. They breezed by Alpine on the road to the tune of 88-20. The result was nothing new for Levelland, who have now won 12 contests by 21 points or more so far this season.
Despite the loss, Alpine saw an underclassman step up: Collete Fowlkes scored six points along with six rebounds and six blocks. Those six blocks set a new season-high mark for Fowlkes.
Levelland's win bumped their record up to 16-1. As for Alpine, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season.
Levelland won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Snyder at 8:00 p.m. on December 9th. Snyder knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Levelland likes a good challenge. Alpine and Caprock will face off at 3:30 p.m. on December 8th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Caprock presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Alpine in Texas (Caprock is ranked 213th, while Alpine is ranked 1278th).
