The Miller Falcons are taking a road trip to square off against the Fairfield Christian Academy Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Miller has given up an average of 29 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Miller is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight games on Friday. They were beaten by Fisher Catholic 49-18.
Despite the defeat, Miller had strong showings from Zander Bice, who rushed for 113 yards and one touchdown while picking up 7.1 yards per carry, and Nick Thompson, who picked up 95 receiving yards and one score. Bice's longest rush was for an incredible 73 yards.
Meanwhile, Fairfield Christian Academy came up short against Bishop Rosecrans on Friday and fell 39-28.
Miller will need to focus on slowing down TJ Blair, one of several Fairfield Christian Academy players who made an impact when they last played. He picked up 200 receiving yards and one TD, and also rushed for 79 yards and one score on only eight carries. Blair also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up 0.5 sacks and making eight total tackles (1.0 for loss). Brayden Stem was another key player, throwing for 276 yards and one touchdown.
While Fairfield Christian Academy came up short, they sure didn't make it easy for Bishop Rosecrans: they limited their QB to completion percentage of just 45.2%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from three players: Henry Roberts, Cadyn Penha, and Kaeden Debrah, who each logged one passes deflected. Sadly, that's becoming something of a trend for Fairfield Christian Academy; they were averaging 59.2%completion percentage earlier this season, but in their last three contests they've fallen to only 59.2%.
Fairfield Christian Academy's defensive line didn't let Hayden Perdue, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for three sacks. Leading the way was Kaeleb Debrah with 2.5.
Fairfield Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Miller, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.
Friday's matchup might be decided in the trenches. Miller has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 210.8 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Fairfield Christian Academy, though, as they've been averaging only 68 rushing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?
Miller took their victory against Fairfield Christian Academy when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 41-21 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Falcons since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
