Fans got a thrill when William Ranse Gale and Trevon Windley connected against Lathrop. The connection went for 82 yards, the longest such play in Sierra Valley this season.
El Dorado scaled the state rankings by moving to 606 from 650 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Cougars climbed the ranks as a result of losing to Tokay 29-16.
Windley was the best wideout in the league this week as Liberty Ranch bested the Spartans. Windley tallied 3 receptions for 111 yards.
Dylan Welcher was the most successful running back in Sierra Valley this week. He ran for 210 yards on 16 carries as Galt topped Lathrop. Garrett Blackwell also contributed to the rushing game with 74 yards on the ground.
Matt Jimison put up the best numbers in passing as Vista del Lago topped Highlands. He finished with a total of 15 completions for 273 yards and 7 touchdowns. Jimison's favorite target this week was Jacob Jones, who caught 2 passes for 86 yards.
Welcher was a force in the backfield as the Warriors beat Kennedy.
The Eagles' Jimison and Brad Rittenhouse have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-2 quarterback Jimison has thrown for 401 yards this season, while Rittenhouse has 10 catches for 135 yards. Galt's Welcher leads the league in rushing yards with 230.
Liberty Ranch was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from fifth to second in the league. Earlier in the week, Darin Higgins' team triumphed over Steve Wichman's team 24-12.
