Given Dodgeville's advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 72nd, while River Valley is ranked 381st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Several Blackhawks players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Elizabeth Gostomski, who scored 7 points. Another player making a difference was Karina Osborn, who scored 7 points.
Dodgeville's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points per game. As for River Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.
Dodgeville will be home for the holidays to greet Platteville at 7:30 p.m. on December 15th. Platteville will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for River Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against Prairie du Chien at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
