After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last four games, Calhoun Academy finally came back down to earth on Friday. They came up short against the Kirk Academy Raiders, falling 11-1. The Cougars' loss signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

Calhoun Academy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jake Allen, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base. Allen has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played.

Calhoun Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 13-8. As for Kirk Academy, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

Coming up, Calhoun Academy will head out to square off against Hebron Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Kirk Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
