The St. Paul Flyers will head out on the road to face off against the Crestview Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (St. Paul 4.1, Crestview 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Crestview will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: St. Paul extended their winning streak to four on Tuesday. The Flyers came out on top against Monroeville by a score of 8-4.
Brady Fritz was incredible, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-4. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Landon Fries, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Crestview). They put the hurt on Plymouth with a sharp 11-1 win on Tuesday.
Drew Spoerr was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Crestview got a massive performance out of Kayn Patton, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Brayden Parrigan was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Crestview kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive matchups.
St. Paul's record now sits at 13-2. As for Crestview, their record is now 8-4.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. St. Paul has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Crestview struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
St. Paul might still be hurting after the 11-3 loss they got from Crestview in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Can the Flyers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
