In what's become a running theme this season, the Rickards Raiders gave their fans yet another huge win on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 60-31 win over Godby at home. The win was nothing new for Rickards as they're now sitting on eight straight.
Jariyah Jordan had a dynamite game for Rickards, dropping a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jordan has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Lauryn Pye, who scored four points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Godby's loss came despite strong showings from Mar?nazha Houston and Kenijah Clayton. Houston dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds, while Clayton scored 11 points.
Godby struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Rickards racked up 17 assists.
Rickards' victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.8 points per game. As for Godby, their loss dropped their record down to 14-8.
Rickards will head out on the road to square off against Leon at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Leon will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 408th, while Rickards is ranked 41st). As for Godby, they will be playing at home against St. John Paul II at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
