The Yuba City Honkers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 14th straight defeat. They fell to River Valley 70-64. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Yuba City lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Saleem Rafiq, who scored 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Medina, who scored 18 points.
It was another big night for Yuvraj Dosanjh, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds for River Valley. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Dosanjh has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Tarun Nijjar, who scored six points along with 12 assists and two steals.
Yuba City has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 15 of their last 16 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-21 record this season. As for River Valley, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-20.
Yuba City does not have any more games scheduled as of now. River Valley also has no future games currently scheduled.
