The Del Campo Cougars had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They secured a 54-49 W over Vista del Lago on Friday. The victory was just what Del Campo needed coming off of a 76-51 loss in their prior game.
It was another big night for Dino Hatzakos, who scored 20 points along with two blocks. Another player making a difference was Javi Sidhu, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds.
Vista del Lago lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jesse Petersen, who scored six points. Mason Rostami was another key contributor, scoring six points along with three steals.
Del Campo's victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-17. As for Vista del Lago, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season.
Del Campo will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against El Camino at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. As for Vista del Lago, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Sacramento at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Sacramento's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last nine matchups.
