The Imlay City Spartans were the 46-40 winner over the Marian Mustangs when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Imlay City took a 57-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of Marian on Tuesday.
Marian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from McKenley Reid, who scored 7 points along with 7 rebounds and 6 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Molly McLeod, who scored 17 points.
Imlay City's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Marian, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Imlay City will take on Bad Axe at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Marian, they will be playing at home against Lutheran Northwest at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
