The Plano Reapers will face off against the Westmont Sentinels at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Plano will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
Having struggled with seven losses in a row, Plano turned things around against Genoa-Kingston on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Cogs a 10-0 shutout. The Reapers not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since May 4, 2024.

Jason Phillips made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 14 over six innings pitched. Those 14 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Josh Stellwagen was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jake Dixon, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, Westmont suffered their closest defeat since April 25, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of Jones by a score of 6-4.
Westmont saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rocco Damato, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Plano's victory bumped their record up to 2-7. As for Westmont, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5-1 record this season.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Plano has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Westmont struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Plano might still be hurting after the 9-0 loss they got from Westmont when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Reapers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
