The Highland Hawks will be playing at home against the American Leadership Academy Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Highland faced Williams Field in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Everything went Highland's way against Williams Field as Highland made off with a 43-21 win. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 29-7.
Highland can attribute much of their success to Jay Martin, who rushed for 123 yards and three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, American Leadership Academy had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17 points), and they went ahead and made it six two weeks ago. They skirted past Red Mountain 17-14.
Diego Morales and Enoch Watson were among the main playmakers for American Leadership Academy as the former rushed for 88 yards and the latter rushed for 33 yards and a touchdown. Samuel Hunsaker did his part by putting the 'special' in special teams, booting in three field goals.
Highland is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. As for American Leadership Academy, their win was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-1.
